It was a warm April afternoon in 2009, the kind of day that makes you want to play 'hookie' from a job that you don't necessarily love, when my great epiphany took place.
What am I doing here?
Why didn't I follow my passion when I was young, get my degree in English and write like I always dreamed I would?
Bills, responsibilities, children to raise, the excuses were plentiful...so what's stopping you now Carol?
And the answer was "Nothing! I'm a little old for college but I'm not dead! So do it!"
And I did. Two weeks later I was enrolled in college and seeking that degree, a year after that I began writing my first novel, and now here I am at 50...passionate about my writing and following my dream, 90,000 words down and about 25,000 to go to complete my novel. Not exactly a late bloomer, just hid my light under a bushel for a lot of years and now I'm ready to SHINE!
